Russia's unemployment rate increases in March

Russia's unemployment rate rose to 6 percent in March, authorities said Wednesday.

Roughly 4.6 million people remained unemployed in March, compared to 4.4 million the previous month, the State Statistical Data (Rosstat) said.

Rosstat added that the jobless rate in March saw an increase for the first time in four months.

According to Rosstat, disposable incomes in March decreased by 1.8 percent year on year. In the same period, real wages declined by 3 percent and average salaries amounted to 35,500 rubles (540 U.S. dollars). Endi
