Russia started to inspect a 2,000-strong motorized infantry in its Eastern Military District to check the result of its winter training, the Russian news agency RIA Novosti reported Wednesday.
"About 2,000 solders and over 300 units of the military equipment in the Eastern Military District were included as part of the control test for the winter training period. They will hold live-fire exercises," Col. Alexander Gordeyev, the district's press head, was quoted as saying.
"The motorized infantry units will struggle through a total loss of radio communication while working against a simulated enemy," he said.
The Eastern Military District is one of the four operational strategic commands of the Russian military.
Established in 2010 and headquartered in the eastern Khabarovsk region, the district covers the territories of the former Far East military district and part of the former Siberian military district. Endi
