China sends rescue team to Ecuador

Editor's note: A professional rescue team from Hangzhou in Zhejiang Province was sent to Ecuador to participate in earthquake relief on April 19. The South American country was stuck by a 7.8-magnitude earthquake on April 16. The Rescue Team of Ramunion (RTR) is comprised of seven members of on-site rescuers and doctors. They were due for stopover in Holland, later arriving in Ecuador on the morning of April 21 (Beijing time). Established in May 2009, the RTR is China's first civilian professional rescue team for natural disasters, secondary disaster relief tasks and the search for missing persons.
