Moroccan King, GCC leaders to hold summit in Riyadh

Moroccan King Mohammed VI and leaders from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries will hold the their first summit later this week in Riyadh, said the Ministry of Royal Household, Protocol and Chancellery Monday.

The summit is expected to provide further impetus to strategic partnerships between Morocco and the GCC nations, the ministry said in a statement.

The statement also said that the gathering is an opportunity to discuss roles, challenges and threats facing the Arab world, exchange views on regional and international issues of shared interest, and work towards a general stance on the issues, especially given the delicate regional and international events.

The ministry also noted in the statement that the king will be visiting several regional countries to strengthen both social and business ties. Endit
