Guatemalan duo wins Modern Pentathlon Cup mixed event in Hungary

The Guatemalan duo of Charles Fernandez and Isabel Brand won the mixed relay event at the Modern Pentathlon World Cup meet in Kecskemet, central Hungary on Monday.

Fernandez and Brand scored 1460 points overall (209 for fencing, 340 for swimming, 298 for riding, and 613 for the combined), while Egypt' s Sherif Nazeir and Sondos Aboubakr scored 1440 (215 for fencing, 328 for swimming, 290 for riding, and 607 for the combined) on second.

The third place German team of Alexander Nobis and Alexandra Bettinelli finished with 1424 points overall.

Spaniards Christobal Rodriguez and Marta Garcia-Miguel were 4th with 1416 points, Hungarians Istvan Malits and Tamara Alekszejev were 5th with 1413 points, and Mexicans Ismael Hernandez-Uscanga and Mayan Oliver were 6th with 1410 points.

This was the final event in this round of the World Cup. Endit
