Vice President urges reforms on mass organization work

Xinhua, April 17, 2016 Adjust font size:

Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao has called for further reforms and innovations on the work of mass organizations and the Communist Youth League.

During an inspection tour to southwest China's Sichuan Province from Friday to Sunday, Li said mass organizations must follow the leadership of the Communist Party of China and stick to the socialist path with Chinese characteristics.

Li urged the organizations to build closer ties with the broad masses and establish online platforms in order to connect with, serve and guide the masses better.

Mass organizations represent people from different lines of work or age groups, such as trade unions and women's groups.

When visiting local middle schools, Li said there is great necessity and urgency to keep the Youth League's progressiveness.

More education is needed for League members to cultivate their community spirit and improve their quality and accomplishment in a bid to ensure they grow healthily and become useful people in the future, he said.

Li also stressed efforts to promote model League members and cultivate League cadres to bring the progressiveness of the Youth Leagues at middle schools to a new level. Endi
