Xinhua, April 17, 2016 Adjust font size:

One soldier of the Turkish security forces was killed and three others wounded in a bomb attack in southeastern city of Turkey on Sunday, private Dogan news agency reported.

The bomb planted by the Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK) militants exploded when the Turkish troops were on duty in a military operation in Nusaybin town of Mardin province, leaving four soldiers wounded, according to the report.

However, one seriously wounded soldier died in hospital, said the report.

Over 300 members from Turkey's security forces and thousands of PKK members were killed since last July during armed confrontations inside Turkey and in northern Iraq where the PKK are based.

Ankara holds the PKK responsible for waging a separatist war since 1984.

The PKK is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States and the European Union. Endit
