The following are news highlights in Ethiopia's major media outlets on Sunday:
-- The fifth Tana High-Level Forum on Security in Africa opened on Saturday in Bahir Dar town, Amhara regional state of Ethiopia, under the theme "Africa in the Global Security Agenda."
The Forum was opened with a minute of silence held in memory of the late PM Meles Zenawi, one of the founders of the Forum, and with an opening remark by Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn of Ethiopia.
In his remark, the Premier said African solutions to African problems require collecting and analyzing knowledge as well as upgrading local institutions. (Fana Broadcasting Corporate/FBC)
-- The Ethiopian Government Communication Affairs Office announced that armed group attacked and killed several people in Gambella regional state of Ethiopia, on the border with South Sudan.
According to the Office, Ethiopia's defense force started taking measures against the group who committed the massacre against the people. The Armed group infiltrated into Ethiopia through South Sudan border. (Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation/EBC)
-- The Ethiopian Airlines has been playing an immense role in strengthening trade and investment relation between Ethiopia and Kuwait, according to Ambassador Mohammed Gudeta, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ethiopia to the State of Kuwait.
