Ivorian cyclist Bassirou Konte wins fourth stage in Togo cycling race

Ivorian cyclist Bassirou Konte on Friday won the fourth stage of the 25th international cycling race of Togo expected to end on April 17, in the capital Lome.

Konte pedaled the 118.5 km long stage, Nyamassila-Notse, in 3 hours, 10 minutes and 32 seconds, at the speed of 35.06 kmh.

He came ahead Friday his fellow citizen Sanogo Abou and the cyclist Traore Becaye from Senegal who is ranked third, though they ran the distance with the same length of time.

On Thursday, Konte came in third position in the 116 km long third stage, Kabou-Tchamba, of the race.

Sorgho Mathias, cyclist from Burkina Faso, maintains the yellow jersey that he grasped since his victory at the 73 km second stage of the six-stage cycling race of Togo.

The 101 km long fifth and penultimate stage, concerning mountain in Keve-Danyi N'digbe locality southwest region, is scheduled on Saturday, after 95 km transshipment.

In total 56 cyclists compete in the 25th edition of the 639.5 km six-stage long international cycling tour of Togo. Endit
