S. African Rand closes trading week on firm ground

South African rand closed the trading week at Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) down 0.45% at R14.60 to the U.S dollar on Friday.

Equities also performed fairly well. All Share index firmed 0.36% at 53,038.91 while the Top 40 also gained 0.45% at 46,763.08. Industrials also did not disappoint, firming 0.92% at 71,467.92.

However, Financials and Resources closed the week on a sour note. Financials lost 0.01% to close at 15,496.58 while Resources were down 0.88% at 30,655.68. Endit
