1st LD: Passenger plane engine catches fire after take-off in Indonesia

A passenger plane experienced engine fire after take-off at the airport in South Kalimantan of Borneo Island on Friday, but casualty has so far been reported, a spokesman of the transport ministry said here.

The accident took place at 12:00 p.m. local time after the Kalstar ATR 72 aircraft too off in Banjarmasin city, Julius Avirada Barata, the spokesman, said.

"The plane has an engine fire after the take-off. However, it returned to the airport with a smooth landing," he told Xinhua via telephone. Enditem
