Nigeria likely to produce regional cricket council president: official

Xinhua, April 15, 2016 Adjust font size:

Nigeria is likely to produce the next president of the North and West Africa Cricket Council (NWACC), following the nod to host the regional conference for cricketers later this year, an official said Thursday.

Chairman of the Nigeria Cricket Federation Kayode Adeniyi said though a date has not been fixed yet, Nigeria, by being host of the regional council, stands a chance to produce the president of that cricket body.

The regional council is under the umbrella of the Africa Cricket Council (ACA), but supervised by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Adeniyi said Nigeria's interest to head the regional body was buoyed by the fact that the council had not been active for a while, though member nations were making efforts to bring it back to limelight. Endit
