France says inaction not option to resolve Middle East conflict

France is continuing its diplomatic efforts to promote a two-state solution in the Middle East, a French Foreign Ministry's spokesman said on Thursday.
"Everyone notes that the status-quo is a stalemate and that inaction is not an option to end the deadlock," Romain Nadal said at a daily press briefing.
"Regarding our initiative, contacts with international partners continue," he added without elaborating.
Nadal said French President Francois Hollande would meet Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas on Friday to discuss the situation in the Middle East.
In a bid to revive peace talks in the Middle East, France is preparing an international gathering by the end of summer.
The last round of peace negotiations between Israeli and Palestinian authorities broke down in April 2014. Enditem
