The China Publishing Group Corp (CPG) on Tuesday donated more than 100 books to Bohunt School in Hampshire of Britain as a part of a series of events to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the deaths of Shakespeare and Chinese playwright Tang Xianzu.
Li Yan, vice president of CPG, said: "Today we bring those books of Chinese culture and history, Chinese language learning books, as well as the Chinese version of Shakespeare's works."
"We hope those books could help pupils in Bohunt better understand China's history, current situation and future, and could promote China-Britain cooperation in the future, "added Li.
"I have believed strongly that learning Mandarin is the key to success in the future," said Raymond Morton, chairman of the governing body of Bohunt School.
Morton added,"I hope in the future that some of the pupils in this school will present in Mandarin Shakespeare's plays, and also look forward to one of the orchestras here using the music book and presenting a work by Chinese musician."
The secondary school has more than 1,600 students aged between 11 and 16, while 450 of them are learning Chinese.
