China expresses condolences over Indian fire tragedy

China extended heartfelt sympathies and condolences over a deadly temple fire in India, a Foreign Ministry spokesperson said on Monday.

"We express deep condolences to the victims and sympathies for their families, and hope the injured recover at an early date," said spokesperson Lu Kang at a daily press conference.

Lu also confirmed that no Chinese citizens was dead or injured in the accident.

According to Indian officials, at least 110 people were killed and over 300 injured in a big fire caused by festive fireworks at the famous Puttingal Devi temple in southern Indian state Kerala early Sunday. Endi
