Stuttgart scoop up youngster Jean Zimmer

Stuttgart signed defender Jean Zimmer from lower league side Kaiserslautern, both teams confirmed on Tuesday.

The "Swabians" reinforced their squad for the next season after signing Zimmer on a four-year deal.

"Jean is a fast player with a good mentality who can play on several positions. We have been scouting him for a long time and in detail. We are therefore convinced that he can continue his positive development at Stuttgart," sporting director Robin Dutt said.

Stuttgart' s new arrival made overall 56 second-division appearances as well as five games in the German Cup for Kaiserslautern. Both sides agreed to keep silence over further contract details.

Stuttgart, who sit on the 12th place, clash with leaders Bayern Munich at the 29th round in Bundesliga on Saturday. Endit
