Urgent: Motion to impeach South African President Zuma defeated

A motion to impeach South African President Jacob Zuma, proposed by the opposition, was defeated in parliament on Tuesday.

The motion came after South Africa's highest court ruled last week that Zuma violated the constitution by ignoring orders for him to repay part of the public money used to upgrade his private home.

However analysts had said the motion was unlikely to be successful as Zuma's ruling ANC party has a large majority in parliament. Endit
