A Saudi police officer was shot dead in the capital city of Riyadh in an attack claimed by the Islamic State militant group, Al Arabiya News reported on Tuesday.
The police colonel was working as head of the criminal investigation department in a district in western Riyadh and was shot on the highway, the Saudi Interior Ministry's spokesperson was quoted as saying. (Saudi-Police-Shooting)

RAMALLAH -- Israeli forces on Tuesday arrested 25 Palestinians in the West Bank and East Jerusalem while Jewish settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, Palestinian sources said.
The sources added that among the arrested are Islamic Hamas Movement leaders Nazeeh Abu Oun, 55, from Hebron, and Adnan Al-Husary, 53, from Tulkarem, in addition to three members of one family from Ramallah accused of plotting against Israelis two months ago. (Israel-Palestanians-Arrests)

ANKARA -- A police officer was killed and four others injured on Tuesday in a rocket attack by Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK) militants in southeastern Turkish province of Sirnak, Anadolu Agency reported.
The PKK militants targeted an armored vehicle with rockets in the district of Silopi in Sirnak province, the report said, adding that one policeman was killed and four others were injured. (Turkey-PKK-Clash)

ISLAMABAD -- At least two people were killed and eight others injured when a passenger train came under fire in Pakistan's southwest Sibi district on Tuesday, local media reported.
