Chinese shares close higher Tuesday

China's stocks closed higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 1.45 percent to 3,053.07 points.

The smaller Shenzhen index edged up 2.51 percent to end at 10,640.27 points. The ChiNext Index, which tracks China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, gained 3.36 percent to close at 2,279.52 points. Endi
