1st LD Writethru: 2 killed, 8 injured in attack on passenger train in SW Pakistan

At least two people were killed and eight others injured when a passenger train came under under in Pakistan's southwest Sibi district on Tuesday, local media reported.

Urdu TV channel Samaa said unidentified militants fired three rockets at the train when it was passing by Bakhtiarabad area of Sibi, a district in the country's southwest Balochistan province.

The rockets hit the front part of the train due to which its locomotive and two compartments were derailed.

Railway authorities said the train Jaffar Express was on its way to provincial capital of Quetta from Rawalpindi city of the country's east Punjab province when it got attacked.

The injured passengers have been shifted to a nearby hospital where two of them are said to be in critical condition.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.

Security forces cordoned off the area for investigations.

Chief Minister Balochistan Sanaullah Zehri condemned the deadly attack. Enditem
