Singapore stocks close 0.6 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 16.86 points, or 0.6 percent, to close at 2,835.35.

A total of 1.41 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 743.1 million Singapore dollars (520.2 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered declinerd 200 to 182, while 536 others finished unchanged.

The STI index lost 22.41 points, or 0.79 percent, to close at 2,818.49 on April 1. Endit
