The following are highlights of leading Nigerian media outlets on Saturday.
-- The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has declared another damning outcome for Nigeria's economy and its growth prospects in 2016, as the expectations of improved Gross Domestic Product (GDP) was dashed with poorer projection at 2.3 percent, worse than 2.7 percent in 2015. (The Guardian)
-- A new video was released on Friday by the Boko Haram jihadist group, denying any suggestion that it might negotiate with the Federal Government.
This is coming just about a week after its leader, Abubakar Shekau, said in March that his time as the head of the group might be coming to an end. (The Punch)
-- President Muhammadu Buhari said the recruitment of 10,000 policemen would address the challenge of youth unemployment in the country. The president made the disclosure at a ceremonial parade to mark the 2016 Police Week in Abuja on Friday.
