7 militants killed in clashes in Afghanistan

Xinhua, April 1, 2016 Adjust font size:

Seven Taliban militants have been killed over the past 24 hours across Afghanistan, the country's defense ministry said on Friday.

"Seven militants have been killed and 14 others wounded when Afghan National Security Forces launched joint operations in the countryside over the past 24 hours," the ministry said in a statement providing daily operational updates.

The statement also confirmed the loss of seven army personnel during the operations.

The Afghan security forces have beefed up security recently as the spring and summer, known as the fighting season, is closing. Enditem
