Inter-communal clash kills 12 Burkina nationals in Ivory Coast

The inter-communal conflict at Bouna, a town in the north-east region of Ivory Coast, has claimed the lives of twelve Burkina Faso nationals, an official source on Thursday said in Ouagadougou.

The governmental information service (SIG) made public the death data in a release, and lamented that other 1,550 Burkina nationals have returned to their motherland.

The government of Burkina Faso has invited Ivorian authorities "to ensure safety of our fellow citizens living in this friendly and brotherly country," the release said.

The clash broke out, a week ago, between Peulh pastoralists and indigenous of Lobi and Koulango ethnic in Bouna, causing many victims and property damages. Enditem
