French team nets silver medal at ice hockey women's worlds DIV I Group A

The French team claimed silver medal after beating host Denmark 4-2 at the IIHF ice hockey women's World Championship DIV I Group A tournament which concluded in Aalborg, Denmark on Thursday.

Denmark scored the first goal 6:48 minutes after the game began, but the French soon tied the game 1-1 as Passard Emmanuelle scored her first goal at 10:31 of the first period. Then she went on to put France up by 2-1 at 13:52.

Though the Danes levelled the score at 2-2 at 33:05 in the second period, France' s Allemoz Marion scored two goals in the third period to make it 4-2, sealing the game in the French team's favor.

Germany won the gold medal and earned promotion back to the top division for the 2017 World Championship in Plymouth, while Slovakia were relegated to Division I Group B with a 4-3 defeat by Norway. Endit
