Macedonian industrial production grows by 15.2 pct in February

Macedonian industrial production volume index increased by 15.2 percent in February 2016, compared to that of February last year, Macedonian State Statistical Office (SSO) said on Wednesday.

According to the SSO data, the industrial production in February grew by 7.9 percent in the sections of mining and quarrying, by 19.0 percent in manufacturing, whereas it dropped by 10.5 percent in the sections of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply.

The increase in the section of manufacturing is due to increased production of food, machinery, electrical equipment as well as motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers.

Compared to the same period in 2015, the industrial production by main industrial groups in energy rose by 0.4 percent last month, by 12.6 percent in intermediate goods except energy, by 54.4 percent in capital goods and by 5.5 percent in non-durable consumer goods, but was lower in durable consumer goods by 18.0 percent.
