Chinese FM congratulates Suu Kyi on appointment as Myanmar's top diplomat

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Wednesday congratulated Aung San Suu Kyi on her appointment as foreign minister of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.

The time-tested brotherly relationship between China and Myanmar is growing stronger and the traditional good-neighborly and friendly cooperation between the two countries has brought tangible benefits to the two peoples, Wang said in a congratulatory message.

The foreign ministries of the two countries have played important roles in promoting the development of China-Myanmar ties, Wang said.

China is ready to engage in close collaboration with Myanmar and make unswerving efforts to push forward the China-Myanmar comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, he added. Endi
