Urgent: Policeman killed in car explosion in southern Russia -- report

A policeman was killed and another injured when a car exploded at a checkpoint in southern Russia's Dagestan, the TASS news agency said Wednesday.

The policeman was trying to stop a car for a check-up, but it drove past, and the car exploded, TASS reported, citing an unnamed source in regional law enforcement agency. Endit
