Chrysler to recall 60,332 vehicles over faulty ABS

Xinhua, March 29, 2016 Adjust font size:

Chrysler will recall 60,332 of its 2013-2015 Dodge Journey SUVs on the Chinese mainland over a problem with the anti-lock braking (ABS) system, the country's top quality watchdog said Tuesday.

The vehicles in question were manufactured between April 21, 2012 and April 14, 2015, according to a notice released by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.

The company said that water may leak into the ABS module, disabling the ABS and the electronic stability control system, which may increase the risk of a crash.

Chrysler will seal the ABS wiring harness, and replace the ABS module, the headlamp and dash-wiring harness, if necessary. The recall will start April 18.

In the meantime, Chrysler will also recall 4,082 of its 2015 Jeep Cherokee SUVs on the Chinese mainland over fire risk.

An air-conditioning hose may have been incorrectly installed, allowing it to make contact with the exhaust manifold, which may lead to a fire. Endi
