China donates 138 laptop computers to Cambodian youth union

Xinhua, March 28, 2016 Adjust font size:

The Chinese Embassy to Cambodia on Monday handed over 138 sets of laptop computers worth 170,000 U.S. dollars to the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC).

The hand-over ceremony was held at the embassy residence here between Chinese Ambassador Bu Jianguo and UYFC president and lawmaker Hun Many.

Ambassador Bu said the laptop computers were donated by the Huawei Technologies (Cambodia) to the UYFC through the Chinese Embassy.

"We believe that the laptop computers will assist the work of Cambodian youth in the UYFC," she said, adding youths are the driving force for socio-economic development in Cambodia.

Many said the laptop computers would be distributed equally to UYFC branches in all 25 cities and provinces.

"The donation is very important and timely for the UYFC and it reflects China's attention to supporting the Cambodian youths," he said. "This donation also contributes to further enhancing relations between Cambodia and China, particularly people-to-people relations." Endit
