Xinhua, March 28, 2016 Adjust font size:

A fugitive who spent 17 years hiding in Peru has returned to China and handed herself in, Shanghai police announced Sunday.

Zhang Liping, who was one of China's 100 most-wanted fugitives, is suspected of falsifying VAT invoices, the Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau said.

In April last year, China released the names of 100 Chinese who had fled the country. Chen is the 25th to be brought to justice.

The 65-year-old suspect is former CEO of Shanghai B. Veera company. She is believed to have fled to Peru via Thailand in 1999. Endi
