Nepalese PM hails fruitful China visit

Nepalese Prime Minister K. P. Sharma Oli, who arrived home on Sunday after a week-long official visit to China, has said that his visit was fruitful toward shaping a long-term framework on enhancing bilateral economic cooperation.
The prime minister said that his visit to China was aimed at boosting bilateral ties and building mutual trust and understanding on a range of areas.
"My visit has further enhanced political and economic relations with China. I had cordial and fruitful discussions with the top Chinese leadership regarding growing cooperation on various areas such as infrastructure development, investment, tourism, trade, transit transport and energy among others," Oli told a press conference in Kathmandu.
He also said that the government has given top priority to its relationship with neighboring countries.
Oli said the visit was highly successful in terms of taking bilateral relationship to a greater height.
He also noted that the 15-point joint statement issued by the two governments in Beijing is a guideline for further promoting bilateral relationship in the days to come.
Major agreements and memorandums of understanding reached during the visit will help enhance the close economic cooperation between the two countries, the prime minister said. Endit
