Iran's Rouhani to visit Austria for talks on ties: report

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani will pay an official visit to Austria on Wednesday for talks with the country's senior officials on bilateral relations, Press TV reported on Sunday.

The two-day visit comes at an invitation of Austrian President Heinz Fischer, the president's deputy chief of staff for communications and information Parviz Esmaeili was quoted as saying.

The Iranian leader will be accompanied by a high-ranking political-economic delegation.

Rouhani and Fischer will take part in an economic meeting that will be attended by representatives of the two countries' private economic sectors, Esmaeili said.

Iranian and Austrian officials will sign several documents for cooperation and memorandum of understanding in different fields in the presence of the two heads of state, he added.

The two sides are expected to finalize a roadmap for strengthening their economic cooperation, according to the report.

Fischer visited Iran in September 2015 following a historic deal between Iran and the world powers to put an end to the Tehran's disputed nuclear issue. Endit
