Bangladesh navy chief promoted to admiral

Bangladesh Navy Chief Vice Admiral Nizamuddin Ahmed has been promoted to admiral.

On Jan. 27 this year Ahmed was promoted to vice admiral and appointed as the new chief of Naval Staff.

He was made the navy chief for three years until Jan. 26, 2019.

According to a source close to the Ministry of Defense, Ahmed was made admiral on Sunday.

The Bangladeshi government has recently upgraded the rank of the Navy chief to admiral from vice admiral while that of Bangladesh Air Force to air chief marshal from air marsha
