Xinhua, March 27, 2016 Adjust font size:

A police officer and one soldier were killed on Sunday in attacks by the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in the Nusaybin district in the southeastern province of Mardin, Dogan News Agency reported.

According to the Turkish General Staff, a total of 25 PKK militants were killed on Saturday in military operations in Mardin, Sirnak and Hakkari provinces in southeastern Turkey.

Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told media that since July last year, more than 300 Turkish soldiers were killed in operations against PKK militants, noting that number of PKK militants killed were 10 times of the military casualties.

Since a cease-fire between the government and the PKK collapsed last July, Turkish security forces have been conducting a major campaign against the group in the southeast of the country. Endit
