Turkey security forces detain 4 IS suspects

Xinhua, March 27, 2016 Adjust font size:

Turkish police captured four suspected foreign Islamic State (IS) militants on Saturday, the Turkish Armed Forces said on Sunday.

The four suspected IS militants, crossing into Turkey illegally from Syria, were captured by road control police on Saturday in southeastern Kahramanmaras province, said the military, adding that the detainees are all foreigners.

The arrests came at a time when the Turkish security forces are on high alert to catch IS militants who have been detected inside the country and are allegedly in pursuit of carrying out attacks in crowded places across the country. Enditem
