4-day defense expo to begin in W. India Monday

India will host a defence expo in the western state of Goa this week, where over 1,000 companies from 47 countries will be taking part.
Indian Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar is to inaugurate the four-day Defexpo Monday, which will be held at a place called Naqueri-Betul in southern Goa, close to the coast.
The state-owned Defense Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) will display state-of-the-art military systems and technologies at the expo.
Airborne early warning and control system, light combat aircraft Tejas, wheeled armoured platform, Akash air defense system and Pinaka multi-barrel rocket launchers will be on display, sources said.
"Defexpo India is clearly steering the path of steady growth and has been receiving overwhelming and unprecedented international response with each edition," the Indian Defense Ministry has said. Endit
