5 killed, 50 injured in road mishap in W. India

Xinhua, March 27, 2016 Adjust font size:

At least five people have been killed and nearly 50 others injured in a road mishap in the western Indian state of Rajasthan, a police official said Sunday.

"The mishap happened when a bus collided with a tanker on a highway in the state's Jodhpur district late on Saturday," he said, on condition of anonymity.

While five people were killed on the spot, those injured have been admitted to a local hospital where the condition of some are said to be serious, the official said.

All the victims were travelling on the bus and were from the neighboring state of Gujarat, he said, adding that a probe has been ordered into the incident. Endit
