1st LD Writethru: 5-member Pakistani team arrives in India to probe airbase attack

Xinhua, March 27, 2016 Adjust font size:

A five-member team from Pakistan arrived in India Sunday to probe the terror attack at the Pathankot air base in the northern state of Punjab in January.

The probe team, which reached the Indian capital around 11:30 a.m. local time, will be allowed to question witnesses but not security personnel, sources said.

The team will be allowed limited access to the air base, the sources added.

This is the first time that Pakistani intelligence and police officials are allowed in India to investigate a terror attack.

Seven Indian military personnel were killed when six terrorists launched the attack on January 2 on the air base that houses Indian Air Force's fighter jets. Enditem
