Spanish stock market falls 1.54 pct, closes at 8,789 points

The Spanish stock market index Ibex 35 fell 1.54 percent on Thursday to close at 8,789.80 points, down from the 8,927.10 points of Wednesday.

On Thursday session, ArcelorMittal shares led falls losing 3.08 percent, followed by Mapfre, ACS, Banco Popular, Tecnicas Reunidas, Banco Santander, BBVA and Sacyr that lost 2.94 percent, 2.69 percent, 2.66 percent, 2.51 percent, 2.23 percent, 2.21 percent and 2.08 percent respectively.

On the other hand, only Gas Natural shares and FCC rose climbing 0.06 percent and 0.03 percent respectively.

Share values were down 2.89 percent in the week as a whole. Spain's risk premium closed at 135.5 points, up from the 121.8 points of Monday and Spain's 10-year bond interest rate stood at 1.4 percent showing no big variations along the week.

The Spanish stock market index Ibex-35 will be closed on Friday and Monday for the Spanish Easter period opening again on Tuesday. Enditem
