EU countries' investment rises in Myanmar in 2015-16 FY

EU countries' investment in Myanmar has risen, reaching about 6 billion U.S. dollars in 11 months of the present fiscal year 2015-2016 ending in March, official media reported Tuesday.

Of the investment, Britain accounted for the largest with 4.073 billion U.S. dollars, followed by the Netherlands( 989 million dollars), France (541 million dollars), Luxembourg(45 million dollars), Switzerland( 14 million dollars) and Norway (11 million dollars).

In Myanmar's foreign investment line-up, China stood as the largest with over 15 billion dollars since 1988.

Most of the foreign direct investments entered oil and gas sector of the country. Enditem
