Indonesia's Foreign Affairs Ministry said on Tuesday that no Indonesians were reportedly killed in explosions at Brussels airport and a metro station.

"The Indonesian embassy in Brussels will continue to monitor updates of the situation," Lalu Muhammad Iqbal, the Foreign Ministry's director for citizen protection overseas, said in a statement in Jakarta.

The Indonesian embassy in the Belgian capital has issued an advisory to all citizens to remain on high alert in the wake of the bomb attacks that have at least killed 13 people and wounded 35 others.

According to Lalu, there are 1,630 Indonesians living in Brussels and Luxembourg.

Two explosions hit the airport in Zaventem which were followed by an explosion at Maelbeek metro station near the European Union area.
