The following are highlights of Zambia's major media outlets on Sunday.

-- Zambian President Edgar Lungu has urged voters not to vote him if they do not want.

The Zambian leader, who is seeking a fresh five-year mandate during the general elections to be held later this year, said people were free to vote for a leader of their choice since Zambia is a democratic country.

Zambia will hold elections on August 11 to choose a president, lawmakers and local government leaders. (THE POST)

-- Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi has commended his Zambian counterpart Edgar Lungu for initiating a strategy aimed at effectively addressing power deficit the country is facing.

The Mozambican leader said after the two leaders commissioned the Kapowership vessel, from which Zambia will be importing 100 megawatts of power.

-- Cholera has killed four people since the waterborne disease broke out in Lusaka, the Zambian capital in February and the disease has since spread to the northern part.

Deputy Health Minister Chilufya Mulenga said cholera has spread to the northern town of Nsama, which has 17 cases and two deaths while cases in the Zambian capital have risen to 290 with two deaths. (Zambia Daily Mail)

-- The Zambian government has ruled out possibilities of importing maize following speculation of looming hunger.

Minister of Agriculture Given Lubinda said his ministry has not issued any receipts for the importation of maize because the country will have sufficient maize this year following good rains recorded in the second part of the rainy season. (Daily Nation) Endit
