Two Bangladeshi nationals have gone missing in the northern Kunduz province with Kunduz city as its capital, 250 km north of Kabul, provincial government spokesman, Abdul Wasi Basil said Saturday.

"Two nationals of Bangladesh along with an Afghan colleague and their driver were on their way from Kunduz to the neighboring Baghlan province Friday afternoon but unidentified armed persons intercepted their vehicle in Baghlan-e-Markazi district and took the Bangladeshi nationals to unknown location," Basil told Xinhua.

The abducted Bangladeshi nationals have been working for a lending agency called BRAC bank assisting locals to establish their business and alleviate poverty in society, the official added.

Both the Afghans accompanied the two Bangladeshi nations are under investigation, Basil said. Enditem
