Curtain rises on China original drama exhibition

The China Original Drama Invitational Festival, the second of its kind, opened here on Friday and will last through July 3.

Fifty plays by state-owned, privately-run and community-based troupes , more than 80 percent with realist themes, will be staged.

The festival is organized by the National Theater of China and Beijing's Xicheng District government.

The first festival was held last year, during which more than 30 plays were performed. Endi
