Singapore stocks close 0.92 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 26.63 points, or 0.92 percent, to close at 2,906.80.

A total of 1.95 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.67 billion Singapore dollars (1.23 billion U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 235 to 185, while 500 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 35.96 points, or 1.26 percent, to close at 2,880.17 on Thursday. Enditem
