Chinese shares open higher Thursday

Chinese stocks opened higher on Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.17 percent, at 2,875.41 points.

The smaller Shenzhen index opened 0.49 percent higher at 9,515.63 points. The ChiNext Index, tracking China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, rose 0.44 percent to open at 1,986.14 points. Endi
