Indian stocks close higher

Indian stocks made a smart recovery on Wednesday after trading in losses through the day as investors shed caution ahead of the U.S. Federal Reserve's policy review due later in the day.

The benchmark S&P BSE Sensex closed at 24,682.48, 131.31 points or 0.53 percent up from previous close of 24,551.17, with a turnover of 533.47 crore rupees (about 79.3 million U.S. dollars). Endit
