Cyprus announces short list of three bidders for casino resort

Cyprus officially announced on Tuesday the three bidders who will be called to participate in the final round of the contest for obtaining a license to operate a casino resort.

The three bidders are Bloomberry Resorts Corporation from the Philippines, Melco (Macau)-Hard Rock (Las Vegas) Resort Cyprus consortium, and NagaCorp Ltd from Cambodia.

The three were chosen out of 8 contesters who had shown in interest in obtaining the casino license.

The three short listed bidders will be invited to submit their final bids for the license to build and operate a 500-million-euro casino resort of no less than 500 luxury hotel rooms, an establishment of 100 gambling tables and at least 1,000 gaming machines.

The successful bidder will be free to choose the site for the casino resort. Sources said that all three bidders favor a sea-side resort. Endit
