Venezuela midfielder Gonzalez joins Brazil's Coritiba

Xinhua, March 16, 2016 Adjust font size:

Coritiba have agreed to sign Venezuela international midfielder Cesar Gonzalez from Deportivo Tachira, the Brazilian club announced on Tuesday.

The 33-year-old arrived in the southern Brazilian city of Curitiba on Tuesday morning to undergo a medical examination.

"I have read about the city and it seems to be one of the most modern in Brazil. It's also traditional, has a great stadium and passionate fans," Gonzalez said in comments published on Coritiba's official website.

Gonzalez, who is capable of playing as a central midfielder or as a winger, will be tied to the Brazilian club on a two-year deal.

Capped 59 times for Venezuela, Gonzalez has also represented Argentine giants River Plate and Colombia's Deportivo Cali over a 14-year professional career. Endit
